About Valerie

Valerie Lyttle (Jellyfish Productions) began diving in 2001 after growing up watching Jacques Cousteau and using her father’s spent CO2 cartridges as scuba tanks for her Ken doll. After a trip to Australia where a first experience with a prescription dive mask allowed true underwater vision, certification in the Pacific Northwest soon followed. Since then scuba diving has taken Valerie to Thailand, Fiji, the Philippines, Cozumel, the Cayman Islands, Roatan (Honduras), Florida and many locations on Vancouver Island.

A professional career began in 2006 as a Divemaster and DAN Instructor, then Assistant Instructor in 2007 followed by Instructor. In addition to teaching and receiving the 2007 Excellence in Teaching Award from the Divers Alert Network, Valerie has also had a PNW video exhibited at the San Diego Underwater Film Exhibition, in local television productions and has had photos published in Paul Humann’s “Coastal Fishes” (2008).

She is also a board member of the Washington Scuba Alliance, moderator of the online scuba forum Northwest Dive Club and member of REEF’s (Reef Environmental Education Foundation) Pacific Northwest Advanced Assessment Team. In her “other” life she is a Certified Emergency Department Registered Nurse and staff educator.
